THURSDAY UPDATE

Sorry that it has been so long. It has been real crazy around here with the weather changing so often. 70 degrees one day and 20 the next. Have you ever seen a winter like the one we are having?
Thank God that we were blessed and missed the worst part of Winter Storm Pax. Pray for all the people that are without power tonight. Last report I heard there was close to 1/2 million that was without power.

On a brighter note our Valentine Banquet will be tomorrow night at 6 pm. Covered Dish Meal and plenty of LOVE is the menu. Come and join us for a great time.

Good Morning Victory! Boy has it been cold!! Please be careful and stay warm and don't slip and fall!  It will be warmer soon.  We can be thankful that we are not cold and covered in ice and snow like our neighbors to the north.

I trust that you all had a great Christmas. It has been a while sense I posted but things are always so busy this time of year.   God has been Good!!  We had one of the best Christmas Programs we have ever had.  It was simple but very very good.

There are a few things that we need to be aware of:

  1. Sunday, January 12 is Bring a Friend to Sunday School Day here at Victory.
  2. Sunday, January 12th the David Warren Family will be here at 6 pm  in concert.

We have a lot planned for Christmas this year as always. Saturday, December 14th the Youth will have their Christmas party.  We get out of School on the 20th. Also on the 20th we go Christmas Caroling and take a fruit basket to our shut-ins.
We have our Church wide Christmas fellowship on the 21st and our Christmas Play on the 22nd.   So there is a lot going on. Different Sunday School Classes  are also planning their own parties.

FRIDAY UPDATE

Good Morning Victory!
Here we go again!  Yesterday I said that there was not anyone in the hospital, well what a day makes!!  We have several to report on this morning.
Tim Brown is in the Hospital with very high blood pressure problems, Bradly Chambers is on the way to Children's Hospital in B'ham with unknown problems. He spent most of the night at the ER at Russell but they could not find out what was wrong and sent him to B'ham. Bradly Brown had to go home sick yesterday and is still sick today, Will Brown was out sick yesterday and is still stick today. Mark McWhorter had to go to the ER last night with very high Blood pressure problems but they did not admit him.

Just remember all these as you pray.  As far as I know we will still be singing downtown Sunday afternoon. It looks like it may be raining so keep in touch.
Brother John will be leaving for Mississippi tomorrow morning early so remember him as he travels.

SO until next time may the Lord of Host be with you!

THURSDAY UPDATE

Hello Victory!

It's me again with news from all of us at Victory. We have had a pretty good week so far. No one in the hospital and no one has passed on.  We have had some to go to the doctor and have gotten some good reports and some not so good.

The good reports first: Brother John had his annual physical last week and every thing was ok.

Brother Tommy Wilson had his physical and the blood work came back abnormal or something to that effect. They are still looking into that so keep him in your prayers.
As far as I know everyone else is about the same.

We go Sunday and sing at the opening of Christmas season. We will be singing at 3 pm in front of the Alexander City Court House.
Until next time may the grace of God be with you!

THURSDAY UPDATE

Good Morning Victory! We have finally got some much needed rain. Now we will have to deal with the cold coming in. I don't like the cold or should I say my bones don't like those cold north winds; But  I guess I have to deal with it!
Everyone, as far as I have heard is doing about the same. We must keep praying for them every day. Remember their care givers. We have a tendency to forget them.
Several things that we need to remember this week.
1. The Youth will be going to the Wilson Farm Saturday night, November 9th  for a Bonfire. They will be there from 6 pm-8 pm.
2. Sunday, November 10 we will be honoring all our Vets.  Do something nice this week for a vet you may know.
3. We will have Baptism Service Sunday night, November 10 after the Evening Service.

4. On November 17 at 3 pm the Victory Baptist Choir will be singing at the Christmas Tree Lighting program in downtown Alexander City. Please come out and support them.
5. On  November 23 at 5 pm we will fave our annual Thanksgiving Fellowship Meal. It will be a covered dish meal so bring your favorite dishes. It  will be here at the church in the church basement. Come and bring a friend.
Mark your calendar for each of these events and plan on coming.
Until next time may God keep you and bless you!

FRIDAY UP-DATE

GOOD MORNING VICTORY!

What a night we had at the TRUNK A TREAT. We had close to 300 kids come through.  Everyone seemed to have had a great time.  Most of the kids wanted to play the games more than one time. We had plenty of candy (not very much left) for all the kids. All the workers was very tired at the end of the night but very blessed. We got to see a lot of our school kids that have gone on to different things. I handed out  around 300 tracts that I had printed up.

Even Mrs Wanda Baker got to come out for a little while.   Keep her in your prayers, she looks like she is getting weaker each day.

Don't know much about anyone else right now.  Just keep Praying for those that we have on our prayer list.

DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCK BACK SATURDAY NIGHT!

Until next time May God keep you in His loving CARE!!

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

TUESDAY UP-DATE

Good Morning Victory!

We made it through another week with the blessing of God.  So far we don't have anyone that has gone on to be with the Lord this week or is in the Hospital. We did have a scare Friday when Trey decided to arm himself and swallowed a 22 cal bullet. They did more    x- rays yesterday and sometime over the week end he passed it and is now unarmed and OK.  We have been making jokes about it but it could have been very serious. Thank God that it turned out for the best.

TRUNK A TREAT IS THIS THURSDAY!!! We have a lot of good games and lots of candy so come out and have fun!!  It starts at 5 pm and goes till we run out of candy!  It is for ages 0-12 or there about.

Until next time may God bless and keep you in His will!

THURSDAY UPDATE

Hello Victory!
It has been a hard week so far.  We have been to Funeral Home after Funeral Home. I pray that we will have a slow down on this far awhile. Brother John committed this morning on the age of two of the ladies that died this week one. One was 54 and the other 49 both died with cancer. It only shows that death comes sometimes way to early, at lest the way that we think. Just means that we must be ready to leave this world.

Truck a Treat is coming like a fast moving train.Just one week away! We got to get ready!  If you have not signed up please do so. We need some one to run some of our games. we Have several that I don't have anyone to run.  Please see me!!!

Until next time Keep your eyes to the sky for we don't know when He's coming  we just know that He's coming!!

Monday, October 21, 2013

MONDAY UPDATE

Good Morning Victory!  I have a lot to up-date you on so lets get started.

The Bake sale went great even with all the rain!  We had a lot of great bake goods to sell and we sold most of them at top dollar. I say that meaning we did not have to reduce our price very much at all.  Thank all those that donated their time and effort. You don't know how much we appreciate it.

I have some sad news to bring to you this morning as well.

Kathy Fuller, the daughter of Sue and the late Bubba Johnson, lost her fight with cancer last night. I have known Kathy from the time she was a little girl. She is going to be greatly missed. Pray for her family during this time of lost!
Gary Fox, one of the members of Good Shepherd  missions team, called and gave us the sad news that his daughter-in-law, Teri Fox lost her battle with cancer sometime this morning as well. She fought a brave fight. She went through some very hard times with a lot of pain. We know that these two ladies are now in the presents of The Lord! "To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord."

Please pray for these two families.

We will be Baptizing all the Candidates for Baptism Sunday Night,September 23,2013.
If you are going to be baptized bring a towel and a change of cloths.

I don't know how any of our sick are this morning, just keep praying for them.

MONDAY UPDATE

Good Morning from Victory!
We have had a great start to the Fall Revival. Yesterday was a real good start. We are trusting that the rest of the meetings will truly be Revival Meetings!! But to really be revived and blessed by God you must first be present. If you bring 15 and above visitors during the meetings you could win a Scofield Reference Bible. The one with the most visitors during the week wins.

We have several members that have surgeries this week. Pray for Mrs. Flora Martin and Melinda.

Mrs Ruth and Mrs Hazel still need your prayers. Mrs. Eula is still  improving at Chapman's.
Until next time Remember to pray for and come to the Revival.

MONDAY -THURSDAY UPDATES

First let me say that I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping the blog up to-date.  I have been painting the inside of the church this week and have been a  way from my computer. Almost done with the painting and now comes the hard part, the clean up. I always hated that part.

Well any way let me try to tell what I know has happened this week. We have been having Cartage Prayer Meeting all week and they have been very good. Tomorrow night we will be ate the Watkins beginning at 6 pm. and Saturday night we will end with the men coming here at the Church at 8 pm.

Fall Revival begins Sunday morning at 11 Am (Don't forget Sunday School ant 10) and goes through Wednesday night. Brother Mike Ragland will be the guest Speaker. Keep praying for the Revival. I made this statement at the Tuesday night prayer service," You can't be revived until you have been Vived" I know that isn't a real word but it has a real meaning.
You must be saved before you can be revived. Christians need an old fashion, tear jerking, soul saving revival. Pray that this one will be it!!!

David Wilson had to have a stent put in Tuesday night. He started having chest pains sometime Monday night and was put in ICU. As far as I know he went home today.

Until next time Keep on a Praying!!

We want to express our sympathy to Alice Guice's Family in the death of her Aunt.

We need to be praying for David Wilson this morning as he has surgery on his back.  I will up-date his condition as I get word.
Until then May the Lord bless and keep you!

WEDNESDAY'S UP-DATE

Good Morning People of Victory!
As we come to another anniversary of the attack on America (or should I say the attack on the world) we must realize that because we are free we must protect that freedom! Freedom is not FREE!!  It has been paid for by the blood of countless young men and women over the ages. It has also cost billions of American dollars as well. For reasons that I will never understand there are individuals that want to take that freedom away and they don't care how they do it!  Please take a moment  to pray, remembering the families of the ones that died on September 11.

On a happier  note:  Mrs. Eula Tapley gets out of the Hospital today but she has to go to Chapman's for 21 days. The Dr. wants to let her get her strength back before she can go home by herself. Thank God that she has improved so much!  For awhile it was touch and go!

Brother John and I went to see Jerry Baker last night. He  seemed to be doing good but he has a lot of fluid build up. Continue  to pray for him.

The Pritchards went to see Brother Bent and Mrs Vivian. Mrs Vivian has to go  to B'ham today and get some shots for her shoulder , other than that they seem to be doing well.

I want to remind everyone of the REVIVAL that is coming up. September 22-25 here at Victory!! Brother Mike Ragland will be here preaching both services Sunday and Monday -Wednesday nights.  COME AND BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU!!

We will be having Cottage Prayer meetings the week of September 16-19th. We will announce were as soon as we know.  I know that we will be here at the church on Wednesday night and the men will meet at 8 pm on Thursday night but Monday and Tuesday has not been  determined as yet.

Until next time May God be very near to you and your family.

Monday, September 9, 2013

MONDAY'S UPDATE

Good Morning people of Victory! I trust that you had a wonderful week end. We had 2 great service here at Victory Yesterday. If you wasn't here you should have been.

I have several things to report.

Mrs Eula remains in the Hospital but she has been taken out of ICU and put in room 284. The Doctor says that she is doing a LOT better. Thank all of you for all your prayers. God really came through this past week for her!!

Brother Rusty Burns was at church both services Sunday. He looked good and Mrs Burns said that he was doing a lot better.

Mrs Hazel gave everyone another scare Sunday morning. She went out side to the Garbage dump and fell and had to set off her life alert. She didn't get hurt, thank God, but it could have been very serious had the life alert failed to work.

Brother Ronnie Truett was at the morning service. He came in walking on his own without a cane or anything. He is doing so much better. Myron is still recovering from her surgery.

Yesterday at the morning service we honored all the grandparents. There was a good many that was at the morning service. Thank God fro Grandparents.

Brother Dewayne Bailey preached at the evening service and did a great job. His  wife Susie sang 2 songs that was a blessing to all.

Until next time: May the Good Lord smile upon you!  May you always have meal in your barrel and oil in your jar.

UP DATE ON MRS. EULA

Just got an up date on Mrs. Eula. She is not doing good at all! Her kidneys have stop functioning and they are having problems getting her heart to stay in rhythm.  They are going to start Dialysis in just a few minutes.  The doctors believe that as soon as they get her blood pressure stable and her heart in rhythm her kidneys will start back functioning.
Pray that they are right!  She has a ways to go.

FRIDAY NEWS UPDATE

Good Morning People of Victory!
I hope that this day will be a great day in the LORD!

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Today reach for the sky and don't let Satan rob you of the victory!  If there has ever been a time that we needed to wait on the Lord and allow Him to renew our strength it is today! As we approach the anniversary of one of the darkest days in America's history we need to remember that God is still in control and Satan is a loser waiting for his sentence. He can only do to you what you allow him to do!!

I don't have a lot of updates on our sick yet. I will try to update as soon as I hear.  We have heard from Mrs. Kitty. She is doing good but has not heard from her test yet.

Thursday, September 5, 2013

UP DATE

Just Got a report on Mrs Eula. She is still in ICU. The Doctors seem to think that the Meds that they put her on the last time she was in the hospital about 3 weeks ago is causing her blood pressure and heart rate to go down.  Right now her BP is 90/28  They are going to have to get these meds out of her system and start something else. She has a kidney infection also. Keep here in your Prayers,.

UP DATE

Mrs Eula is being admitted to the ICU Unit.

UP DATE ON MRS. EULA

Brother John just got back from the ER. Mrs Eula has a very low blood pressure AND a very  low heart rate, about 45. They are running test and will know more in about 2 hours. Bro John said that she would go to sleep just sitting there talking to you.  PLEASE KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

THURSDAY UPDATE

Good Morning People of Victory!
We had a great service last night. If you wasn't here you missed a great time of  study and discussion.

I have a lot to report on this morning some good and some not so good.  Melinda and Justin both came in last night with pulled tendons. Melida fell and pulled all the tendons behind her knee. She has to go today for an MRI. Justin fell playing ball and tore the tendons in his ankle.  Don't Know what he has to have done. He is in a brace right now.  Brother Rusty had a bad day yesterday. He is not doing well at all. Mrs. Ruth Johnson had another fall this week. She is ok but she has fallen several times over the last month.  Mrs. Hazel had a bad day yesterday. She stayed in bed most of the day,  Ronnie Truett is doing well. He seems to be improving every day.

Lisa Wilson got her complete report yesterday and it was great!!  All the reports showed NO sign of cancer! PTL  I think that they are still going to UAB or more test to make sure. This has to be a big relief for her and the family!!

Myron Truett Had surgery yesterday to relieve a pinched nerve in her neck. She is doing well and will be coming home this morning. The surgeon  said that everything went well.
Terri Fox is not doing well at all. It seems that it is now a matter of time.

DON'T FORGET GRANDPARENTS DAY!!
September 8th. Come to Sunday School and bring your Grandparents with you.

The Fall revival is coming up real soon!!  September 22-25. Pray for Brother Mike Ragland
as he prepares that God would give him the messages that we need. Start spreading the word now and remind everyone every time you see them.

Until next time may the Goodness of God be with you!!

Lisa Wilson was resting when we went by the hospital to see her last night. She has received a partial report on her surgery and the lymph  nodes were all negative. This is really a great report. PTL!!! She will get the other reports today. Pray that they will be as good.
Myron Truett is having surgery this morning.  Be in pray for her.
I hope to see all of you at Prayer meeting tonight.  Until then have a Bless Day!

TUESDAY UPDATE

I hope that you had a great Labor Day!  I know I did (Ha Ha)  I got up early so I could fix our toilet. It has been giving us some problems wanting to back up and sure enough Sunday Morning it decided to really stop up. So Labor day morning I had to pull the toilet and fix it.  But after that we had a good day. I cooked out and had some of the kids over (yes I washed my hands). We had some really good ribs and ham and hot dogs and hamburgers and all the trimmings.  I am paying for all the work I had to do yesterday though My back is
hurting real bad, But that is normal after a hard day. Enough about me!

Lisa Wilson is still recovering in the hospital. She really needs your prayers.
They will find out later this week  the results of the pathological report. Pray that it is good!!
Ken Guice is doing good and is at home. Brother Rusty had a bad night Saturday  but I haven't heard from him this morning.
Brother John and Mrs Wyvonne had a good trip to Tennessee and got home late yesterday evening with a truck load of tomatoes.

Ronnie Truett was in church Sunday Morning and seemed to be doing better.
We had a great service Sunday morning (I preached Sunday Morning) and a great service Sunday Night. Brother Easter preached Sunday Night and did a great Job.
