UP DATE ON SURGERYS

GREAT NEWS!!

Ken's procedure went well. He is out of surgery and will probably come home this afternoon.  Lisa Wilson's surgery went well also. The surgeon believes that he was able to get all the cancer.  They will not know about chemo until next week.  Let us thank God for these good reports!

I want to take this time to wish you a very happy and safe Labor Day! Spend time with your family but don't forget to attend Church. 

FRIDAY TGIF VICTORY NEWS UP-DATE

HELLO!  VICTORY 
First up we need to be in prayer for Lisa Wilson and Ken Guice as they have surgery this morning. Ken is in UAB and Lisa is  at Russell Medical. Pray that the procedure that Ken is having will correct the problem he has had for so long with kidney stones.
Pray that the surgery that Lisa is having will get all the cancer in her small bowels. This is a rare form of cancer that is very, very dangerous.

REMINDER:  September 8th we will be celebrating Grandparents day.
Bring your grandparents to Sunday School and Church!

GOOD MORNING YA'LL!
I trust that this day will be a great day and that you will allow God to have His will in everything you do today! Don't look to tomorrow until you plan for today!  If you don't get through today tomorrow will not matter.

We have some very urgent needs that we need to bring before God today! Remember I told you about  Leisa Wilson having surgery on Monday and that they removed a tumua.  It turns out the tumua was malignant.  It is a rare form of cancer called small bowel adenocarcinoma. The surgeon thought he had got it all but now he believes he didn't. She will have surgery again tomorrow, Friday, August 30.  She is in her early 30 and has 2 small children. Please pray for her and her family!!  This is a very serious situation but we must believe that God is still healing!!!

We had a great service last night. Brother Thomas was on target. We had  a good crowd. If you was unable to come for whatever reason you missed a good service.

One other thing, we are still studying in 1 Kings about Elijah. Study this week  in chapter 18 and if you have any question to come up write them down and we will attempt to answer them.

WEDNESDAY'S NEWS

Good Morning people of Victory!  There are several things that I need to report. Ken Guice will be having surgery again on Friday to try and correct the problem that he has been having  with kidney stones. They  believe now that his thyroid maybe be the culprit that has been making all the stones. Don't know for sure what they are going to do but let us pray that it works.
Lisa Wilson has been having serious  problems for over a week, in and out of the hospital, with a blockage in her colon. They had to operate on her Monday night and remove a tumor that was causing the problem. She is doing much better now. Keep her in your prayers.

Remember to put the fall revival on your calendar and to start telling everyone  about it.
The date again is September 22-25. Mike Ragland will be our Speaker.

Wilma and I had a great visit with Mrs Vivan and Brother Bent last night.  They are doing much better.
Brother Thomas Wesson Will be here tonight to bring the messag. Come out and allow God to fill you for the rest of the week.

Up Date on Ken

Ken got out of surgery around 1:30. They were able to remove a lot of stones from his kidney but he is going to have to have surgery again this coming Friday, this time on his thyroid. They seem to think this is what is causing all the stones. Pray that they will be able to find the reason and correct it.

Up-Date on Ken Guice

As of 12  o'clock Ken was still in surgery. They were still removing stones.

I haven't heard from any of our sick this morning.  Brother John and Brother Earl left early this morning going to B'ham to be with Ken Guice as he has another Kidney stone procedure.  The last update we got was that he was being prepped. I will try to update as I get news.

Tomorrow night in Prayer Service Brother Thomas Wesson will be preaching. I normally preach but he was going to be here so we are going to let him.  Come to Prayer Service.

THE YOUTH'S PROGRESSIVE SUPPER

READY TO HIT THE ROAD!
9 Youth and 2 brave Adults hit the road Friday night for the beginning of a great adventure. The first stop was for salads at Mrs Wyvonne Watkins, the second stop for bake beans was at Melinda's, the third stop was at Kathy Darley's for bread, the forth stop was at Kristi Brown's for Chicken Fingers  ( have you ever seen a chicken with fingers)
The fifth stop was at Lynn Kizziah's for Ice Cream Sundaes and the last was at Kitty Wilson's for drinks (don't even go there this was a church outing).  
The youth were: Bryan Brown, Baxter Brown, Bradly Brown,Will Brown, Zack Yeagley,Maranda Brice,Olivia Pritchard,Hope Pritchard,Jordan Murphy, and the two brave adults were Brother John Watkins and Rodney Brown. (When planning this type outing next time don't serve bake beans to a bunch of youth and travel many miles between stops!)  The over all rating for this adventure was 5 stars!More Victory News:  We had a real scare Friday Night. Brother Ronny Truett had a bad spell while eating at Ruby Tuesday and had to be taken to Russel Medical Center by Emtac. After an overnight stay he was sent home and is doing much better. He may have to have a pace maker put in to help regulate his heart. He was at church yesterday morning. Mrs. Hazel  spent the night in the hospital Friday. She is doing much better also. We had a great day at Victory yesterday. If you wasn't here you should have been!Until next next time. May the Lord pour out His blessings on you and may you in turn be a blessing to everyone you meet today!!!  

STOP HANGING AROUND AND JOIN THE YOUTH ON  GREAT  ADVENTURES.  

Tonight is the progressive supper for our youth. Be here (at Victory Baptist Church) no later than 6:30pm. The van leaves the Church at that time so DO NOT BE LATE.  

We have a lot of great things planned for the next coming months. In September you will go on a great adventure looking for hidden treasures. There are several choir outings planned for the youth choir as well.

REPORT ON ALL OUR SICK:

Mrs Hazel Mahan, Bro. John's aunt fell Tuesday night and lay in the floor all night and most of the day yesterday. She has a life alert but for some reason it did not work. She is 97 years old and still lives alone (for now). She was taken to the Dr. and is doing ok. Remember her when you pray.  Brother Rusty Burns had a good day yesterday. I haven't heard how he is  this morning.  Brother Gary Fox's daughter-in-law is still taking treatment in California. She is not doing well. They have started a new treatment so pray that it will kill the cancer. Mrs Ruth Johnson is doing better.  We have a lot of sick so pray,pray,pray!

Good Morning citizens of Heaven. The Scriptures tell us that we are not of this world that we are only passing through.  Some times we act like this is our home and we are going to be here forever.  God forbid!!

WEEK END VIEW

GREAT DAY AT VICTORY

We had a great service yesterday with good attendance even with all the rain. 


Adam Truett had celebrated his 2nd Birthday with a party in the fellowship hall after the morning service. Our babies are really growing up fast.


Brother Johnny Pritchard brought the evening message last night. He spoke on being content from 1 Timothy 6. He did an outstanding job explaining the word "wholesome" from verse 3. 

Mrs. Eula Tapley was at the morning service. She seemed to be much better. Good reports on Ronnie Truett.  Brother Rusty is still about the same as far as I know right now. Mrs Ruth Johnson had a bad night Friday. Age is taking a toll on a lot of our people. 
David Wilson will be having back surgery next Monday at East Al. 
Ken Guice will be having another Kidney procedure next Tuesday at UAB. 
A reminder: Fall Revival is coming up!!
SEPTEMBER 22-25. Brother Mike Ragland will be the guest speaker.

Progressive Supper for the youth coming up this Friday night: Be at the church no later than 6:30 pm.   

FRIDAY UP-DATE

Brother Ronnie came home this morning. Brother Rusty is still about the same. Keep praying for him. 
Pray for me as I go to the Dr. today to see what is causing my back to hurt all the time.  It has been hurting very bad now going on three weeks. 
Plan on coming to Sunday School this Sunday! It will do you good!!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER SERVICE

We had a great service last night. There was a good number here. 
 I preached on allowing God to train us on the Job. We are still studying from 1 kings were God is preparing Elijah to be a great prophet.  
In this part of 1 kings Elijah does something that has not been done to this point , He prays to God for the Widow's son to be brought back to life and God answers his prayer. 

The main thing that we need to learn from this passage is to allow God to use us even if it has never been done before. Trust God and He will bless you.

Good reports on all our sick yesterday. They all seemed to have had a good night Tuesday night. We have not heard from any of them this morning. I will post their up-date as soon as I get it.
Brother Ronnie is still coming home tomorrow as far as I know at this time.

TUESDAY UP-DATE

We are studying about Elijah during our Wednesday night Prayer service. Come and learn about this great man of God.

YOUTH ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR A PROGRESSIVE SUPPERS

The Youth announced plans to have a progressive supper this month.  It will be a 7 course meal, (each course at a different house) Starting with a salad and ending with drinks. The date is August 23, beginning at 6:30. Mark your calendar and plan on going. It will be lots of fun!!

MONDAY UP-DATE

We had a great service yesterday. 
Mrs Eula is home from the hospital and doing better.  Ronnie is still in therapy but is expected to come home Friday.
Brother and Mrs. Burns was able to attend the morning service. 
Keep all our sick in your prayers.

Mrs Eula Taply

Mrs Eula spent most of Thursday night and Friday in the ICU at Russell Medical Center. She started having problems with an irregular heartbeat.  The Dr said that this was normal for someone of her  (young) age.  They got it back right and plan to send her home with some different medicines.

Up date on Brother Ronnie Truett

 

Brother  Ronnie had a stroke Sunday July the 28th and is currently in rehab in Phenix City. He is doing good but has a ways to go. Keep him in your prayers.
